Starstruck — Terms of Service

By using Starstruck, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.

The service

Starstruck is a dining journal for logging restaurant visits and sharing them with friends. It's provided "as is," and we may change or discontinue features.

Your account

  • You're responsible for your account and the content you post (notes, photos, ratings, username, display name).
  • You must be 17 or older.
  • You can delete your account anytime from the Account screen.

Your username

You choose a public handle. Don't pick one that impersonates someone else, is offensive or hateful, or infringes a trademark. We may reclaim or change handles that break these rules or that are reserved.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create. By posting it, you grant us a limited license to store and display it within the app to you and the people you share it with (friends/companions). We don't sell your content.

Community guidelines

Starstruck is a friendly place, and we have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to post or do anything that is:

  • unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, or bullying;
  • sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise objectionable;
  • infringing on someone else's rights, or content you don't have the rights to;
  • spam, scams, or impersonation of another person.

You can report content or users, and block anyone, from their profile or a search result. We review reports and, at our discretion, may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. We aim to act on reports of objectionable content promptly.

Restaurant data

Michelin star information in the app is compiled from public sources for reference and may be incomplete or out of date. Starstruck is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the MICHELIN Guide or Michelin; Michelin star ratings and restaurant names are used for identification only.

The way we have assembled, organized, corrected and dated that information — the restaurant catalog, star histories and related data in the app — is our work and is protected by copyright and database rights. You may use it inside the app for your own personal, non-commercial dining journal.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service. In particular, you agree not to:

  • access the app or its servers by any automated means (scrapers, bots, scripts, or API calls outside the app) or attempt to bypass rate limits or security;
  • extract, copy, export or download the restaurant catalog, star histories or any other data in bulk, by any method, including screenshots at scale;
  • republish, sell, license or redistribute data from the app, or use it to build or train a competing product, dataset, model or service;
  • access other users' data except as the app's sharing features allow;
  • send unsolicited messages or perform automated or bulk activity.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that do any of the above and may take further action where the law allows.

Trademarks

"Starstruck" and the fork-and-star mark are trademarks of Beverly Place Studios LLC. Don't use them in a way that suggests we made or endorse something we didn't.

Disclaimers & liability

The app is provided without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the app.

Changes

We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the changes.
